3 Super Simple Fancy Hairdos

Hey hey hey everybody! Someone recently requested fancy hairdos (for shorter hair) for dinners and stuff, and I was honestly very excited to see that request, because I have a few favorites for elegant dinners/events! Today, I’m going to share 3 of my all-time favorites: the simple pull-back, the super gorgeous side-sweep, & the simple, elegant braided bun! Alrighty, let’s get to it! (Once again, I apologize ahead of time for the poor quality of the photos.)

“The Pull-Back”

Step 1.) Brush hair.

Step 2.) Grab a section of hair from the front of your face and pull to the back of your head.

Step 3.) Either bobby-pin, or use an elastic to tie it off.

Step 4.) Literally the key to making any hairdo elegant and fancy: add an accessory! I love using cute hair pins when it comes to formal occasions!

Step 5.) Hairspray.

And that’s it! Super simple, and I think it comes out looking nice and elegant! And It’s a great style for after straightening your hair, or curling it!

“The Side-Sweep”

Step 1.) Brush and Hairspray hair.

Step 2.) Part your hair into a side-part.

Step 3.) With the side with less hair, bring it to the other side & pull that hair into a side-ponytail behind the visible hair:

Step 4.) Optional: take a small section of hair and pin it behind with the ponytail.

Step 5.) Hairspray.

{Also, if you curl your hair with this style, it can actually look very similar to Jenny Lind’s hair in “The Greatest Showman.”(her side-bun)..} 😉

“Braided Bun for Short Hair”

Step 1.) Brush and hairspray hair.

Step 2.) Create a simple three-strand braid to all of the hair:

Step 3.) Pancake the braid.

Step 4.)Tuck the braid under, and pin in place(or you can tuck it over, if you prefer.)

Step 5.) Hairspray.

[any hair falling out, just pin to the back of the head–but a few strands of hair framing the face actually look quite nice hanging loose. 😉 ]

[also, this style is super cute with headbands!–any kind of headbands! 😉 ]

And that’s all there is to it! Hope these styles help you out! Happy hairstyling, y’all!

❤ always: Emily

  1. So pretty Emily, I think they’d look amazing with curled hair too! I love the braided bun one, it’s so gorgeous in your hair! ❤

    1. Thanks, Sabby!!! ❤ Haha, the second seems to be a popular favorite. 😉 The second is actually one of my favorite go-to styles! I actually love the second style when my hair is straightened! Makes it a tad more elegant, I think. 😉 Thanks for commenting! ❤
